MacOS X Panther and the G5

Presented by Dave Marsh

Dave will be filling us in on the latest about Apple's new MacOS X 10.3 Panther operating system. He will also be telling us about the new G5 towers from Apple to help you decide whether you're ready for an upgrade.

Directions to Center for Microscopy:
1. These directions are from I-5, going either direction.
2. From I-5, exit on March Lane going East. Continue on March Lane 1.6 miles until you reach the traffic light at Pacific Ave.
3. At Pacific Ave. turn LEFT, and go 0.3 miles until you reach the traffic light for Delta College.
4. Turn LEFT at Delta College Entrance. The street is labeled Yocuts going East and Delta College going West.
5. As soon you turn into Delta College Entrance, bear LEFT on the Campus Drive (called Burke-Bradley in some places).
6. Continue around on Campus Drive until you reach Holt 1 Parking Lot. Turn RIGHT into Holt 1 Parking Lot.
7. As soon as you turn into Holt 1 Parking Lot, take a sharp RIGHT turn to enter Holt 2 Parking Lot.
8. Park as close to the front of the parking lot as possible, closest to the new building.
9. Display parking permit in your windshield.
10. As you walk towards the buildings, you will see the new building. Building name is Center for Microscopy & Allied Sciences. Only entrance is front entrance.

To Get Parking Permit:
1. Click on the below URL and download pdf file of permit.

2. Write the day(s) of the week and the date(s) that you will be on campus in the appropriate place in the lower right part of permit.
3. After "For" write in "Microscopy Service."
4. Display the permit in your windshield.
NOTE: This does not include parking in handicapped areas. Tickets for handicapped areas are $270!!!!

Computer Link has moved. Their new address is 4343 Pacific Ave. This is the University Square shopping center on Bianchi and Pacific Ave. The easiest way to find Computer Link is to take Pacific Ave. and turn west on Bianchi. Then turn left into the shopping center. Computer Link is on your immediate right.

More About the Workshops

These workshops are designed to give individual help with using a variety of programs and are especially intended for beginners. Topics vary with the need of the participants. There are usually enough computers for hands-on instruction. Topics include the Macintosh system, internet access, and specific software.

Remember to bring disks if you want to copy Public Domain software or shareware.
