SAUG May 2000 Meeting

Building a Web Page with Photographs
A Hands-on Sesson

Presented by Larry Fox
Site Technology Coordinator at Lodi High School
Why would you want a web page?

If you have Internet access, your Internet Service Provider (AOL, Inreach, Earthlink, Lodinet, etc.) have set aside space for your web page. It is usually included free with your service. You might want to consider creating a web page for your family genealogy or pictures. You could put a number of pictures on a web site instead of sending them individually to friends or family. You could put the pictures from a trip or from a family gathering. Ask your friends to check your web site now and in the future for new additions.

Another idea would be to create a page with your favorite links. Then no matter where you are you would have access to them. You can also put a return email button on your site that your friends can use to contact you. Small pictures could be used as a menu to look at larger images.

We will be the guests of Larry Fox, Site Technology Coordinator, and Nancy Carey, Digital High School Coordinator, at Lodi High School. Larry will be presenting this hands-on session. Larry teaches web development at the school. Visit his web site at http://www.softcom.net/users/fox and a virtual Museum field trip he created to Sutter's Fort at http://score.rims.k12.ca.us/activity/suttersfort/.

Bring photos or picture files to work with. Also, bring floppy disks or a Zip disk to save your work on.
