We're joining the "Computer Using Educators" for a special presentation by Apple Education Representatives. The G3 notebooks are awesome. Plus, Microsoft Office 98 has some wonderful new features making it a step or two ahead of the latest Windows version.

Note from Jaede Miloslavich: I was one of the lucky ones who got to see this beautiful PowerBook in development and it is just as neat to touch as it is to see it work. You know that rubberized black material your remote control buttons are made of? An amazing thing to see is a large soft white Apple logo glowing in the curvy, sleek, black case. There is no mistaking this PowerBook for any PC laptop.

You can use one or two batteries, each lasting over three hours, or seven total hours working time, and the batteries have time-left indicators. You have two bays for batteries and support options for floppies, DVD, CD-ROM, third party Zip, all hot swappable. This is no compromise machine. And it eats Pentium II laptops for lunch. The $5399 Compaq Pentium II Armada 7800, considered the fastest laptop from the PC world, has a BYTE magazine benchmark of 2.9. The entry level PowerBook G3/233 has a BYTE benchmark of 7.3, and the high-end PowerBook G3/292 tests out at 9.8!
