SAUG August 2002 Meeting
iPhotoPresented by David Price |

We'll be taking a look at iPhoto, Apple's new photo management application, which can manage all your digital photos. iPhoto lets you import your pictures from your digital
camera, organize them, edit and improve them, and share them in a number of different ways. Just plug your camera into the Mac's USB port and iPhoto automatically imports your photos, catalogs them, stores them, and displays them on your screen. See hundreds of photos on the screen at once, and quickly scroll through thousands to find the one you're
looking for. This is a great and simple tool that permits you to group photos into convenient and multiple categories, making it easy to find items in the future. You can also perform some simple clean-ups of photos and then elect to electronically send them off to Kodak to have them printed and shipped anywhere you like. Of course, you can also have Apple put together a photo album of selected photos to keep for yourself, or send it off to friends and relatives. Visit the iPhoto web page at http://www.apple.com/iphoto/ for more details. You can even email photos directly from within iPhoto, a real convenience. Oh, and did I mention the presentation mode wherein you can have a selected group of photos cycle on your screen, with fade-ins/outs and digital music playing in the background as you watch them? Join us to see how easy all this is! Macintosh...it just works!
David, one of our SAUG members, is a photographer and long time Macintosh user. He and his wife, Lyn, have been named Artists of the Year for Manteca for their photography. David also is involved with Mac and photo sessions (online chats) on World Without Borders. |
