Digital Photography & Video

Presented by Scott Wreyford, Sr.
Digital sales expert at Gluskin's Cameras audio video
PhotoShop instructor at Delta College

The world of digital still and video cameras is constantly changing with new and better equipment. Scott will demonstrate the options available in digital still and digital video cameras. He will demonstrate digital photography techniques using various software including PhotoShop and Ultimate Knockout.

"Ultimatte KnockOut does an outstanding job of masking images and it does all of the hard work for you. Frankly, I'm amazed." (PhotoShop User, Jan/Feb 99 4 * Stars)

Masking is a process used in photo editing. It creates a cut out of an object or portion of a picture so that the object can be placed on another background or touched up with photo editing tools. This process can be time consuming and tedious especially when the edges of the object are not a simple straight edge. Ultimatte KnockOut makes it possible "to mask blurred or out-of-focus edges, smoke, glass, shadows and other transparent or translucent objects." It "stands apart from all others in that it recognizes that there really are no edges" - "only transitions." (Ultimatte website)*

"KnockOut works masking magic that Mask Pro can't touch. Better at masking shadows, hair, and transparencies than any other product." (MacAddict, February 1999)

"Working with Adobe Photoshop is second nature to me - but there are masking jobs where it just falls short -in those cases I use Ultimatte KnockOut to make what used to be the impossible mask with a precision that I've never seen before. I'm working faster, better, and the masks that I am making are better than anything I could make in Photoshop." (Katrin Eismann, PRAXIS. Digital Solutions, Coauthor "Web Design Studio Secrets" and "Photoshop Studio Secrets, 2nd Edition" for IDG Books.)
